Cacao (Cocoa) is thought to have first been used by the Maya civilization of Central America. It was introduced to Europe by Spanish conquerors in the 16th century and quickly became popular as a health-promoting food.
Cacao is the main ingredient of chocolate; however, they are not identical. Chocolate is only processed cacao with heat, mixed with sugar, butter, and probably with additives. MyRoots Cacao Powder is purely made by crushing cacao beans of the rarest species, Criollo Cacao, which is well-known as the “King of Cacao”.
Modern research has revealed that raw cacao does indeed contain important compounds that can benefit your health. Chocolate DOES NOT have the same benefit.

How to use:
l Hot Cacao Quinoa Drink: Mix MyRoots Cacao powder with MyRoots Gelatinized Quinoa powder to make a non-dairy, gluten-free but rich, delicious, relaxing and healthy Chocolate Drink.
l Smoothies: Cacao can be added to your favorite healthy smoothie recipe to give it a richer, chocolatey taste.
l Vegan Brownies
o 2 cups of cooked black beans
o 50g of MyRoots Sacha Inchi (crushed)
o 50g of Oats powder
o 1/2 cup of MyRoots Cacao powder
o 1/2 of MyRoots Gelatinized Quinoa powder
o 1 banana
o 150g of peaches
o 1 cup of water
o 2 tsp of baking powder
o 2 tsp of apple vinegar
o Add Coconut sugar or Yacon to your personal taste
o MyRoots Cacao nibs sweetened by Yacon
o MyRoots Dried Golden Berries (cut into pieces)
o Process and Mix all the ingredients until having a homogeneous paste. Then, cut half of the dough in a mold (approx. 25 x 25 cm),distribute half of the extras on the top (cacao nibs and golden berries), put the rest of the dough and extras above for decoration. Cook for 45 min in a preheated oven at 180°C. When it is ready, wait until cool down before serving.
